Valentina is a Marriage and Family Therapy trainee pursuing her Master’s degree at the University of Southern California (USC). She earned her B.A. from Duke University with a double major in Psychology and Global Health and a minor in Education. Valentina was born and raised in Lima, Peru and is fluent in English and Spanish. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in psychodynamic principles, although she adapts her practice to meet the needs of each client. She believes that therapy emerges from the collaborative interaction between the therapist and client(s), which fosters mutual learning and the development of new insights. Valentina is particularly passionate about working with families, couples, and children. Her style is welcoming, warm, straightforward, and lively, when appropriate.

Valentina also loves all things music: singing, dancing, going to concerts, etc. Moreover, she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time outdoors.

Valentina es una practicante de Terapia Matrimonial y Familiar que está cursando su Maestría en la Universidad del Sur de California (USC). Obtuvo su título de grado de la Universidad de Duke con una doble especialización en Psicología y Salud Pública, y una menor en Educación. Valentina nació y creció en Lima, Perú, y habla inglés y español. Su enfoque terapéutico se basa en principios psicodinámicos, aunque adapta su práctica para atender las necesidades de cada cliente. Ella cree que la terapia surge de la interacción colaborativa entre el/la terapeuta y el/los cliente(s), fomentando el aprendizaje mutuo y el desarrollo de nuevas perspectivas. A Valentina le apasiona especialmente trabajar con familias, parejas y niños. Su estilo es acogedor, cálido, directo y vivaz, según corresponda.

A Valentina también le encanta todo lo relacionado con la música: cantar, bailar, ir a conciertos, etc. Aparte, disfruta leer, hacer senderismo y pasar tiempo al aire libre.
