Tierra Murphy, MFT Trainee
Languages Spoken: English
Hello! My name is Tierra Murphy and I am currently working towards my Masters in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles with a specialization in Applied Community Psychology (ACP). As a Queer Black woman from Los Angeles, I am keenly aware of the emotional, mental and physical toll one experiences by simply existing within our society with multiple non-dominant identities. I am excited to witness and affirm your individual experiences.
Although I am not tied down to a specific modality, I find myself drawn towards postmodern therapy models that offer my client and I the opportunity to collaboratively explore distressing issues that impact their ability to live their life to the fullest. I believe that every individual is the expert of their own life. Only they know what is “right” or “wrong” with and for them. As a therapist, it is my job to help my client uncover their values and, if desired, develop ways to integrate these values into their everyday life.
