Sierra is privileged to serve as the Executive Director for Open Paths Counseling Center since 2016. With 20+ years of experience in both Los Angeles and Chicago’s nonprofit sectors, her career has shifted from arts and culture and animal welfare, to higher education and social services.

At Open Paths Counseling Center, Sierra has tripled the annual budget, doubled the level of services, and implemented multiple programs and partnerships, making Open Paths one of the most sought-after clinical training agencies in Los Angeles. She has also guided the agency’s vision of prioritizing historically marginalized communities in all aspects of the organization, including diversifying the board and staff to reflect the communities served by Open Paths.

Sierra currently serves on the Community Ministry Board for Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, and formerly served on the board of Economic Resources Corporation: a nonprofit real estate investment organization that removes blight and builds economy through real estate investment in underserved communities throughout Los Angeles. She is adjunct faculty at Antioch University Los Angeles where she teaches a cultural diversity course in the MA in Psychology Department, and was a guest lecturer in the Masters in Nonprofit Management Program. Sierra is the past chair of the Culver City Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit committee, and of the Funders Circle for the South LA / South Bay African American Infant and Maternal Mortality Community Action Team (SLA/SB AAIMM CAT). She is married, with two school-aged children, and two scrappy rescue dogs, Stella and Marty.
