Sidney Harrison, MFT Trainee,
Languages Spoken: English
Hello! My name is Sidney Harrison (she/her), and I am a Marriage & Family Therapy Trainee pursuing my Master’s degree at Antioch University.
I am a mixed-race, cisgender woman of African American, Jamaican, and Scottish ancestry who was born and raised in Los Angeles. I have had the privilege of working in crisis counseling, education, and/or community service with the LGBTQ+, Korean, Jewish, youth of color, and unhoused communities. The combination of these experiences has led me to the practice of psychotherapy through a compassionate, curious, and culturally attuned lens.
I am eager to welcome each unique person, couple, or family into a nonjudgmental, restorative space to heal and grow. I view therapy as a collaborative journey that empowers people to explore their authentic selves and become active agents of change in their lives. My hope is to offer trauma-informed, identity-affirming support in navigating life’s challenges, unpacking experiences of oppression, and achieving balanced wellbeing.
Healing doesn’t stop in the therapy room. Systemic barriers to wellness face far too many once they leave sessions. I am dedicated to people thriving in all aspects of their lives and aim to connect folks with accessible, affirming resources and communities that can support them fully.
Outside of my work life, I enjoy going camping, practicing yoga, playing video games, and reading science fiction or fantasy novels. That is when I’m not cuddled up with my dog, Sky, and cat, Pippin.
