Shakira Gagnier

Shakira Gagnier is an Operating Partner of Human Capital & DEI at LightBay Capital. Finding her passion at the crossroads between talent and culture, she has spent the last 15+ years driving talent strategy, partnerships, and organization development during phases of high growth and rapid change across diverse industries. In her current role, she consults with a portfolio of C-Suite leaders and Board Directors to provide strategic leadership, helping them make data-driven decisions related to people, DEI, and culture. She also heads LightBay’s social impact Foundation which partners with Social Justice Partners LA, Rock the Street Wallstreet & Junior Achievement SoCal.

Throughout her career, Shakira has held a wide range of transformative HR roles across Entertainment: VP, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Paradigm Talent Agency, Director of Learning and Development at WarnerMedia, Vice President of People, Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement at Fullscreen/Otter Media, and Senior Manager Learning and Organizational Development at Universal Music. While at Paradigm, she created an external engagement program, “Agents of Change” to widen the lens of diverse talent within the agency. At WarnerMedia she played an integral role in producing the first virtual Global Enterprise Inclusion Race Equity Intensive for all HR professionals across 8 countries. Similarly, at Fullscreen she produced the 1st people development department and created “IGNITE,” a people leader program with 50% parity between male and female emerging leaders. And at Otter Media she co-led “We Gather,” an engaging, content-rich conference featuring diverse women speakers created to connect and empower the female workforce. She also served on the board of Universal Music’s Women’s Network, a community of over 500 women across several record labels. She is also a current partner of Social Justice Partners LA, Co-Chair of The Brentwood School Alumni Diversity Committee in Los Angeles and a Board Member for Project Optimism.
