Nyki Carreathers, MFT Trainee

Hello! I am a counseling trainee currently pursuing my master’s in clinical counseling at the University of Phoenix, and I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Long Beach. My approach to therapy is person-centered, grounded in the belief that each person has the capacity for healing, growth, and deeper self-understanding when given the space to explore their experiences safely and without judgment.
I have experience working with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, veterans, survivors of domestic violence, and those navigating life transitions and crises. These experiences have strengthened my ability to meet people with empathy, cultural awareness, and respect for the uniqueness of their lived experiences.
I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they work through challenges and reconnect with themselves. I am passionate about helping individuals gain clarity, build self-awareness, and move toward a stronger sense of alignment in their lives. Alongside traditional therapeutic approaches, I incorporate reflective and insight-oriented practices that support meaningful and lasting change.
I am deeply committed to my own practices of reflection and self-awareness, which shape the grounded, intentional presence I bring into each session.
I view therapy as a collaborative process, one that honors where you are while gently supporting who you are becoming.
