Myra Rivero, MFT Trainee

Languages Spoken: English

Hi! My name is Myra Rivero (she/her), and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Clinical Counselor trainee pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University. As a Belizean American woman and U.S. Air Force veteran, I bring a culturally responsive and lived-experience lens to therapy. I recognize the impact of systemic barriers, cultural stigma, and trauma, particularly for individuals navigating marginalized identities and environments. I am committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families who may feel misunderstood within traditional mental health systems.

My clinical approach is grounded in an integrative, trauma-informed, multicultural, and systems-based framework. I believe healing occurs when we understand the broader contexts that shape our experiences, including family dynamics, culture, identity, and social influences. I work with a diverse range of clients, and I strive to create a collaborative and supportive therapeutic environment where clients can explore their stories, build deeper self-awareness, and develop tools for growth, healing, and empowerment.
