Mia Geckeler, MFT Trainee

Languages Spoken: English

Hi there! My name is Mia (she/her), and I am a Taiwanese American biracial woman from Sacramento, California, and the daughter of an immigrant. I attended the University of California, Irvine for my Bachelor’s in Business Administration, and I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Antioch University Los Angeles.

I believe therapy is a sacred environment of co-creation toward chosen goals that aim to help relieve chronic stress and build emotional regulation skills. In our therapeutic space, safety and trust will come first. In sessions, I welcome laughing, crying, and everything in between.

I work with couples and partnerships of all kinds, children, and Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC) communities suffering from anxiety, depression, Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPSTD), and more. I bring experience in Internal Family Systems (IFS parts work), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and somatic experiencing, as well as inspiration from the Gottman style and a trauma-informed lens.

Wherever you are in your journey, I will be here to walk with you on your path to joy, passion, and fulfillment. I look forward to meeting you!

P.S.

Outside of the therapy room, I find myself writing poetry, snuggling with my cats, spinning records, tending to my plants, playing the ukulele, unwinding at the beach, and kicking back with my community.
