Hello! My name is Loran (she/her) and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist trainee working toward my master’s degree with specializations in LGBTQIA+ Studies and Trauma Studies at Pacific Oaks College. I am passionate about working with people who are healing from the effects of traumatic experiences and challenging life circumstances. Through my own experiences with therapy, I have come to believe strongly in its power to help people heal and thrive. I studied sociology before I started on my path to becoming a therapist, which informed my understanding of how societal factors impact individuals’ wellness, especially within marginalized communities.

My approach to therapy incorporates different therapeutic frameworks and is personalized based on a person’s needs and goals. I believe clients are the experts of their lives and in the best position to guide what to explore. I strive to provide affirmative and culturally responsive therapy in a safe environment and to support people in their healing journeys in a collaborative way that emphasizes empowerment and self-acceptance. In my free time I enjoy cooking and taking walks with my dog.
