Hello, my name is Krystal and I am pursuing my MA in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in African American Families from Pacific Oaks College. I received my BA degree in Communicative Disorders from California State University – Los Angeles. My background is in developmental disability services where I have worked with adults with various developmental, intellectual, physical disabilities and co-occurring conditions.

My interests include historical and intergenerational trauma and how it affects individuals across the lifespan, specifically substance abuse and parent-child relationships. I am also interested in understanding attachment and how early relationships determine how we connect with others. As a trainee, my goal is to support people of various backgrounds on their mental health journey and foster an environment that is patient, understanding and inclusive.

And finally, when I am not adulting I enjoy Lego building, I have a small collection that is very slowly growing and I love music, my playlists have everything from hip hop to punk to heavy metal and oldies. I am honored to have this opportunity and look forward to learning from and supporting you.
