Hello everyone, and I welcome you as you enter into your journey of healing through therapy. I am Kristin Lee, a Marriage & Family Therapist Trainee in my second year at Pacific Oaks College in their Marriage & Family Therapy program with specialization in African American Family Studies. I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Comparative Ethnic Studies and another Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with minors in Child Development and Women & Gender Studies. I have 6 years experience working in community mental health as a case manager for at risk youth and wraparound services. I am a queer Black Los Angeles native that believes therapy is a vital asset for everyone and should be accessible to all.

I am passionate about communal healing through addressing the life barriers and traumas that are experienced across all identities. Through my own relationship with therapy, I have seen the ways it can be helpful for those needing guidance and the cracks that still need to be addresses to ensure that those seeking support feel welcomed and cared for. I believe that operating from a strengths based framework and acknowledging the systems of oppression that hinder accessing a space of healing are the first steps in ensuring that someone can have the tools to work through and not around their trauma. Rest and gracious feelings towards oneself as they navigate life over resiliency are priority for how I would like to help guide you in healing. I look forward to working with all communities, including Black and Brown queer folks, those affected by substance usage, and other marginalized compounding systems.
