Hi, I’m Charmaine (she/they), and meet my Service Dog, Sami! I’m so glad you’re here. As a Filipino American living with a rich mosaic of identities and cultures, I bring a multicultural, trauma-informed, and affirming approach to therapy. I earned my B.S. in Biology at Cal Poly Pomona and am pursuing my M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Lutheran University, specializing in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
As a survivor myself, I am passionate about helping others heal. From first-hand experience facing the justice system, I know how difficult it is to advocate for yourself, especially against large institutions. Life’s challenges have transformed me and altered my path. Because of all the incredible therapists who have helped me along the way, I have been inspired to pay it forward. Now, it is my honor and privilege to hear your story and support you on your journey.
Through my recovery, I have supported others in recovery who struggle with severe trauma, depression, and anxiety. The majority of them came from diverse backgrounds; including BIPOC individuals, neurodivergent individuals and people of varying gender identities, disabilities, and religious beliefs. I’ve seen how people from all backgrounds heal differently but connect through vulnerability. My hope is that I can help foster a brave space where you can show up fully as yourself.
I am committed to creating an inclusive environment where all are welcome. I believe true success means living a meaningful life aligned with your values. My style is warm, compassionate, person-centered and experiential. I also draw inspiration from indigenous cultures that emphasize connection with others, art, and nature. Together, we can explore your strengths, reclaim your voice, and live authentically according to what is most important to you.
Beyond therapy, I love anime, video games, supporting local artists, dance, and taking Sami to the dog park.
