Hi! My name is bert wright and I am a therapist trainee pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in Marriage and Family Therapy with an LGBTQIA+ Specialization at Pacific Oaks College. I’m passionate about collaborating with clients on their path to healing in a way that centers them as the expert on their own life and experiences. Rather than focus on one therapeutic modality, I prefer to learn more about the client I am working with to understand what approaches work best for them. In general, the therapies that align most with my values are those that center client agency, collaboration, and a focus on both external and internal systems. The external, oppressive systems that cause trauma in our lives and the lives of our ancestors, and the internal systems that have helped us survive challenging times but may require updating to integrate those past experiences toward a more fulfilling, connected life in the present.
