Amber Mitchell, MFT Trainee
Languages Spoken: English
Hi! My name is Amber. I earned my B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and I am currently completing my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pacific Oaks College, with a focus on African American families and trauma studies. As a Black biracial woman, I believe there is deep empowerment in exploring identity and defining it for
ourselves within the contexts of culture, community, and lived experience.
I work from a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and attachment-focused lens, and I value incorporating somatic awareness into the therapeutic process. I strive to create a space rooted in curiosity, trust, and mutual respect, where we can gently explore both challenges and strengths. Together, we will work to build insight, foster connection, and move toward goals that feel meaningful and aligned for you.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy music, video games, cooking, watching football, and spending time with my family. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey.
