Hi, my name is Alberto Hernandez, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapy trainee. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Southern California.

I am a bilingual Mexican American and a proud child of immigrants. My parents inspired me to prioritize mental health as they taught me to resolve conflict through communication, be responsible for my actions, be present and listen, treat others with respect, and love your neighbor as yourself, no matter what their background. I have learned that socioeconomics, culture, systemic, and educational barriers have often reduced the ability to access mental health services. I have experience working with adolescents and young adults as a Youth Director. I plan to provide culturally sensitive and relevant care and to create a brave and safe space that guides clients in building autonomy, hope, love, and ultimately healing. I will bring my skills, experience, and education to provide a safe space for culturally relevant, person-centered care that empowers and builds autonomy, strength, and resilience. I am here to continue my journey of learning and growing, practice cultural humility, and be alongside my clients on their healing journey.

Hola, me llamo Alberto Hernandez y soy estudiante de Terapia Matrimonial y Familiar. Actualmente estoy cursando una maestria en Terapia Matrimonial y Familiar en la Universidad del Sur de California.

Soy un mexicano-americano bilingüe y me siento orgulloso de ser hijo de inmigrantes. Mis padres me inspiraron a dar prioridad a la salud mental, ya que me enseñaron a resolver conflictos a través de la comunicación, a ser responsable de mis acciones, a estar presente y escuchar, a tratar a los demás con respeto y a amar al prójimo como a mí mismo, sin importar cuál sea su origen. He aprendido que las barreras socioeconómicas, culturales, sistémicas y educativas a menudo han reducido la capacidad de acceder servicios de salud mental. Tengo experiencia trabajando con adolescentes y adultos jóvenes como director de jovenes. Mi intención es proporcionar una atención culturalmente sensible y relevante, y crear un espacio seguro que guíe a los clientes en el desarrollo de la autonomía, la esperanza, el amor y, ultimamente la sanación. Aportaré mis habilidades, experiencia y formación para ofrecer un espacio seguro donde se brinde una atención culturalmente relevante y centrada en la persona, que empodere y fomente la autonomía, la fortaleza y la resiliencia. Estoy aquí para continuar mi camino de aprendizaje y crecimiento, practicar la humildad cultural y acompañar a mis clientes en su proceso de sanación.
