Christina Kroes, MFT Trainee
Languages Spoken: English & Spanish
Hi there! I’m Christina Kroes (she/ella), a Marriage and Family Therapy trainee pursuing a Master’s degree at Antioch University with a specialization in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Care. My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by a series of synchronicities, all weaved together by a passion for healing and human connection. I began my career in wildlife biology and animal rehabilitation, where I became fascinated in being part of a team that helped teach dogs how to walk again after spinal injuries. That work gave me a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection, which later guided me into physical therapy with humans and, ultimately, into the field of mental health.
My approach to therapy is informed by the core belief that you are the expert on your own experience. I use an integrative approach, adjusting each session to your needs with the tools that best serve you in the moment. If you resonate with this and are looking for someone that values your innate wisdom and experiences, you’re in the right place. It is my hope that in our work together, you feel fully seen, through a compassionate, anti oppressive, decolonial framework that recognizes all of you, including the systems that impact your experiences. I’d feel honored to walk alongside you on your journey, offering warmth, curiosity, and care in a safe, affirming space.
