Mayra Rivas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has had a passion for working with families in mental health setting since she was 7 years old as she saw shows of therapists and psychologists helping children after traumatic experiences. Mayra after graduating highschool went to college to receive her Bachelor’s in Social Work at CSULA in 2016. Mayra worked as a school counselor helping children and families out by providing support and therapy while working on her Masters in Social Work. Mayra received her master’s degree in social work from CSUDH on 2018 where she began her journey to acquire her hours to obtain her License as a Clinical Social Worker. Mayra has worked with a variety of individuals from ages 4 to 78 years old in non profits, family preservation organizations, outpatient programs, homeless programs, trauma recovery centers, school therapy programs. Mayra enjoys collaborating and supervising other clinicians as she can provide her experiences of working with trauma work, short-term treatment, long term treatment, narrative therapy, art therapy, music therapy, somatic techniques. Mayra describes herself as a Kind, Humorous, Engaging therapist and supervisor that enjoys bringing out her style by creatively using EBP to address mental health in the non-traditional talk therapy that many perceive social workers to do by the media.
