Hello! My name is Tia Parrish, and I am a second-year graduate student in the Marital and Family Program at CSU Dominguez Hills. I have a wealth of experience in utilizing ABA techniques and providing behavioral therapy to individuals with developmental disabilities. several special needs volunteer programs within her high school career. I primarily have worked with toddlers and children, but I also have experience working with adolescents and young adults. I have typically worked with families in disadvantaged neighborhoods and would like to continue to work to provide affordable mental healthcare to all communities. I have always had a passion for increasing accessibility of mental health services and I am looking forward to learning about the intricacies of community health care and immersing myself in the communities I want to serve. My own experiences with psychotherapy have also shown me the need for representation of Black mental health professionals and the need for deconstruction of the stigmatization of mental health within my community. I strive to create a safe and empathetic space for clients to share their experiences and provide empowerment and support.
