Maria Quinonez, MFT Trainee

Languages Spoken: English and Spanish

My name is Maria and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee. I have a bachelor of arts in Psychology and am now completing my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Touro University Worldwide. Since earning my bachelor’s, I have worked at a law firm that specializes in Social Security Disability appeals and a non-profit that supports children from birth through early childhood.

My approach to therapy is one of collaboration and empathy. Through my own mental health journey, I discovered the healing power of simply being heard, in addition to learning tools and techniques to confront the challenges in my life. My goal is to offer clients the chance to be heard, with respect and understanding, so that together we can identify goals, strengths, challenges, as well as a plan to navigate these successfully. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals and families from LGBT/queer communities. communities of color, immigrant communities, and people with neurodivergent experiences.
