Cecelia Adams, C.P.R.P., is a Marriage and Family Therapy trainee currently pursuing her Master of Science degree at California State University Dominguez Hills. She has been a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) for several years, and has experience working with children and families in crisis, those experiencing homelessness, LGBTQI and BIQPOC communities, and a variety of age groups and ethnicities. Her pronouns are she, her, hers.
Cecelia believes that healing is a compassionate and empowering process, and she is passionate about creating a safe therapeutic relationship based on an individual’s specific and unique experiences and needs. She believes healing is an ongoing process and that people have the power and capability to access their own inner wisdom and inner healer to help effect change. She believes in therapy as a co-creative process and encourages clients to explore their strengths and honor the process that brought them to the present moment.
Cecelia believes that social context, environment, and dominant messages in society affect mental and emotional health, and her therapeutic perspective includes integrating an collective, contextual, and individualistic approach to healing.
