How You Can Help…

As a nonprofit community organization Open Paths relies on the generosity of individual, corporate and foundation donors. Through cash gifts, events, bequests, United Way employee designations and employer matching contributions, foundation grants and corporate donations, our supporters enable us to continue to provide affordable quality counseling on a sliding-scale fee.

How Donations Help

Open Paths focuses on raising funds from its pool of alumni interns and trainees, therapists who cannot afford to see low-paying clientele and all those with an interest and belief in the power of mental health treatment. Please join us by becoming a supporter of Open Paths and our quest to make mental health accessible for members of our community who seek to better their lives through counseling.

The Board of Directors continuously seeks volunteers to join our Board or one of the working committees dedicated to Open Paths’ future and well-being. Those interested in policy and program oversight, fundraising or would like to help with an event are encouraged to call for more information.

Open Paths also has a variety of opportunities for people interested in volunteering to do clerical work, answer phones, and aid in a variety of on-site projects. For more information, please call 310-258-9737, email Sierra@openpaths.org, or complete the Contact Us form. We look forward to hearing from you.

Open Paths spends less than 12 percent of their revenue on general administrative costs. Donations cover those costs, as well as supplementing the fees of those clients unable to pay more than a few dollars. Here are some of the ways your donations help:

$25 – 1 hour of supervision for an intern or trainee

$60 – 1 two-hour domestic violence group for 10 participants

$100 – 7 sessions for a client to attend Parenting Classes

$250 – 3 months of treatment for an individual

$500 – 1 year of in-school counseling for one at-risk child

$1,000 – 1 year of therapy for an entire family

$2,000 – 1 year of training for a pre-licensed intern
